Slight changes

 Good and bad.

A week after the nurse pointed out that Okaasan was no longer on the blood pressure meds...she had a fever and low blood pressure. So back on the meds.

We've visited twice since then. Yesterday Okaasan appeared to open her eyes slightly. Her pupils didn't focus on anything, and it may well have been an involuntary movement. But we took it as a positive, as we sat there with the Bossa Nova music playing softly on the mobile phone.

I cleaned out her mouth drool with tissue paper. We patted her shoulders.

We came home.

  1. I'm sorry that MIL is in this state. I started reading your blog long ago. I enjoyed reading about your life with her. Sometimes we don't get to choose our life ending. Thinking of you.
Oh, van life?? How's it going to cat?

    1. Yes, Okaasan's condition is really just an ongoing sleep...with occasional involuntary movement. I hope she's content in there...
Van life won't start for a year or two...and the cat will probably never get used to it - he already gets REALLY unhappy if we move a blanket 3 cm to the left. Old animal, routines. Not sure how the timeing of it all will come together...just hope we get to do van life before WE are too old!
